Our butchers can’t tell you why all the avocados will always be rock hard when you’ve planned to make guacamole, but they know so many other good things about giving a great party.
Talk to them.
Here are just a few of the crowd pleasing crowd-feeding ideas we can help you with:
Turn a backyard barbie into a chic churrasco. Start with our Brazilian steak on sticks with olive oil, garlic, pepper and flat leaf parsley (2 per person). Supply pita bread, chilli spiked aioli, chimichurri (blitz a bunch of parsley and a head of garlic in olive oil with oregano, salt and a splash of lemon juice) and greens. Voila, next-to-no cooking for the host.
Ribs. They’re spicy, sticky, friendly fun food. Everybody loves them. And a show-stopping pile of ribs on huge platter won’t break your catering budget. Ask your butcher in advance to make you a big bag of lamb and beef short ribs. Add some racks of pork ribs if you want to go the whole nine yards. Choose a variety of Big Ricks barbeque sauces, marinade the ribs overnight and roast or BBQ.
A kebab can be anything you want it to be. We have about a dozen varieties ready made for you in store, but special orders are welcome (Wagyu in lemon, win & garlic, anyone?).
Butterflied lamb legs star at shared plate dinners. Roast 1 for every 4 guests. Keep them all the same or choose a variety from our marinated range. Cut thick slices and fan on platters.
Make the cocktail conversation at your next drinks part all about the fabulous nibbles. Wrap kofta balls in bacon – because so few people like prunes. Roast chicken wings in Hank’s sour cherry & seed mustard jam – because new ideas are worth talking about. Roast a couple of butterfly chickens in BBQ Peking Sauce, shred and roll into mini tortillas – because convenience is the mother of invention.
And lastly – Christmas Day. No matter who turns up and how many add-ons they bring at the last minute, a turkey and a Christmas ham will ease your load. Have you ordered yours yet?
Phone or visit to make sure yours are waiting for you when you’re ready to pick them up.
